FAQs
Q: |
How much does co-op cost? |
A: |
There is a $75 per family facility fee, as well as a $18 insurance fee per student. In addition to this, there will be various supply fees for each class. Those are determined by the teacher and typically range between $10 for a writing class and $75 for a science class with a lab kit. |
Q: |
What is expected of the parents of co-op students? |
A: |
Each parent present at co-op is expected to participate by teaching classes, covering the nursery, handling security, or helping in a similar manner. These duties are assigned at the beginning of the school year and are not optional. We have a goal as administrators to provide one hour during co-op for the parent to spend as he or she chooses. The rest of the day will likely be spent teaching or assisting in some way. |
Q: |
What is expected of the co-op students? |
A: |
This co-op is designed to replace students' language arts, social studies, and science curricula. Classes for third grade and up generally include homework that the students are expected to complete. It is not recommended to attend this co-op in addition to another program that will assign homework. It is also not recommended to register students for classes if you do not intend to require them to complete the homework for this class. |
